How it works
No ID upload, and no human in the loop, most of the time.
- Download Lite first. The education license is a key for the plugin you already have, not a separate download. Grab and install it here, it takes about two minutes.
- Apply with your school email in the form below. If your school is already on our list, the key lands in that inbox within minutes. That inbox is the check: only someone who can actually read your school mail gets the key.
- School not on the list yet? A human (there is exactly one) reviews it, usually within a day or two.
- Paste the key into the panel's License field, the exact same field a paid key goes in. The panel switches to MatterAE Edu, the 3 second bake cap is gone, and it shows the date your license runs until.
- The key is checked on your machine. No server call, so using the plugin phones nobody.
How long it lasts
Every education license runs until the next 31 October. Apply in September or October and you get the following year's 31 October instead, so nobody ends up with a two-week license.
Renewing is this same form again with your school email, and takes about a minute. When it expires, the plugin drops back to the free Lite mode: bake capped at 75 frames (3 seconds), nothing broken, no work lost.
The catch, such as it is
This is for learning and coursework, not paid client work. If you start charging for what you make with it, grab a normal license.
